Os à moelle - gros sel
Bone Marrow

Pieuvre et lentilles - vinaigrette
Octopus and lentils

Raviolis maison
Home made ravioli

Sauté de canard confit avec salade
Sauted duck confit with salad

Went there fore lunch on a beautifully sunny day. First thing you notice walking in is the trademark black & white square tiles. Feels very French-bistro-y (for lack of better descriptive).

I was less than impressed with the food for the prices. Presentation was lacking, although quality was there. My favourite was the duck confit salad by far. Bone marrow was too much for one person, there were barely any escargots in my escargot dishes (would have been better renamed to escargot flavoured sauce), and the ravioli portion was too small... Otherwise, the octopus was amazing, lentils were okay.

Definitely try if you have time (and the money), some people love it and find it very authentic. For me, it just didn't do it.

Brunetti

Do you see what I see
Do you crave what I crave
 Let me marry these chocolates
I'll cheat, but only with these macarons

And this, my friends, is only 1/10 of the store as I couldn't take more pictures before the people I were with got embarrassed (either because of my drooling or tourist-like behaviour or both)

So. Brunetti. Everybody knows about it, or almost.

Honestly, what's there not to love? Beautiful location, beautiful premises, beautiful desserts. If I had to choose a place to live, I would live in this Brunetti cafe (if I was allowed to eat all the cakes and not just stare at them in anguish, that is).

I didn't have a chance to sample enough things to really attest for the quality of the place, but by the few items I had, it's definitely above your average desert. There are just so many things and I regret not going there for a second visit. But I will. Wait for my, my lovelies.

I whole-heartedly agree with this statement

You see, I was so busy stuffing my face and tasting all the flavours that were available on that day (special head nod to the staff over there btw, a bunch of ultra-gracious people who let me sample every. single. gelato.) that I didn't of taking any pictures.

This is quality you cannot get anywhere else in Melbourne, from my experience. Each of their ingredient that goes into their gelato is fresh; if you order watermelon gelato, it's artificial, it's the actual watermelon that they juice themselves. And it shows, oh my my.

They also have some of the most exciting flavours I've ever seen in a gelato store, ranging from the inconspicuous passion fruit delight to the most absurd goat cheese with cranberries and walnuts and even Durian...

Everything is just so decadent, writing this post is making my mouth water all over again. Whether the season, time of the day or reason, I would go back there and empty their fridges in a heart beat.

Do you dream in colours and shades of cupcake too?
So cute
The whole shop is adorable

Sugar, moar sugar
I spot happy bunnies

Nom nom nom

Super interesting little shop, run by two lovely girls. The concept is that you buy a cupcake (chocolate mud, red velvet, etc.) and some toppings. Add some icing and voilà! Personalized sugar-rush.

While I was less than impressed with the taste overall, the concept is still cute. It's good for a rainy day as an activity, but do not expect gourmet-level batter or decorations. They also have full-sized cakes to decorate if you need a bigger canvas for your inner artist.

It gets quite pricey if you add a lot of decorations (mine came to 8.00$ for a meh-tasting cupcake), so you really pay more for the experience rather than the food.
